Portland, OR – February 15, 2012 – TFG Card Solutions, Inc. lowers payroll costs and achieves 100% direct deposit for Joint School District #2. With over 35,000 students and 4,300 employees, Joint School District #2 was looking to increase direct deposit numbers and eliminate the costly paper check.
Joint School District #2 implemented the TFG VISA ® PayCard as an alternative to paper checks for its employees, and the results have been impressive. Initially the team was concerned about the employee reaction to paycards, but found that the program was well received.
“TFG Card Solutions provided Joint School District #2 a perfect tool to help us achieve 100% participation in our Direct Deposit program. For many reasons, some of our employees simply can’t or won’t open a traditional checking or savings account, with TFG’s paycard solution that barrier was removed and we were able to provide a paycard to those employees and the response has been fantastic,” said Dave Roberts, Payroll Manager at Joint School District #2.
A dramatic benefit was the “welcome call” that occurred 24-48 hours upon activation of the paycard. Cardholders were able to speak with a paycard specialist on the benefits and best practices of their paycard. Most importantly, this welcome call from TFG kept employees out of payroll’s office!
“We understand the importance of direct deposit for teachers who need their paycheck. These days the post office can’t guarantee delivery every time, making it difficult for teachers to receive their pay when they need it,” said Tom Secor, President of TFG Card Solutions. “The paycard allows employees to change the way they conduct personal banking in a low and no cost manner.”
